The Russell Harty Show

1976

A twenty minute interview with Russell Harty. The segment begins with David bounding onto the stage.

They discussed why David needed to get out of the situation he was in (The Partridge Family, Music). It was a "blatent misrepresentation of me". He wanted to be known as a serious actor.

David had become very isolated and sceptical about people. He loved that he could reach so many people and affect so many people but frustrated that people couldn't know him. He had to get in touch with himself and evaluate what he wanted to do creatively.

The discussion led to Shaun who was seventeen and had just released a record. The benefits and pitfalls of being David Cassidy's brother.

At the end of the interview David accompanies himself on Piano as he sings "Then I'll Be Someone".
